A nail art Ombre of dots and flowers with a touch of Paris... Who would think of Paris and not think of it's Eiffel Tower? How about add a pink bow to it?
MATERIALS USED:
White Polish, Ombre Polishes (3 colors of the same family - light to dark hue)
Basecoat and Topcoat
3d embellishments
Dotting tool and a piece of foil or paper
HOW TO:
First, I applied the basecoat to protect the natural nails.
Then, apply one or two coats of white polish depending on how opaque your polish is.
Let dry.
For the design, I used a dotting tool to do the dots and flowers.
Put a glob of polish in a piece of foil (or I used sticky notes), then dip the dotting tool to the polish. Using light to heavy dabs, you can make small to bigger dots designs. I started with the darkest color at the base and lighter as I go to the tips. (about a third of the nail surface area for each color)
The same is true for the flowers - it's just five smaller dots connected together and another white dot in its middle.
Let dry then apply topcoat.
I added a bit more glob of polish where I wanted the 3d flower embellishments. They stayed on pretty decently and lasted more than picture-taking. But I suggest using nail glue to ensure that it stays put.
I think that this is a very pretty accessory to the nail art. It's so elegant!!!
However, (oooh confession time) I think that this is more appropriate for a cell phone or arts and crafts decoration. When I purchased it online, the description says "NailArt or Cell Phone decor."
This is actually quite big on the nails and not apt for working hands. For a special event maybe, like a prom or a party... and then properly and promptly removed after. It does not stay intact on the nails with nail polish alone. Nail Glue is needed to keep it in place. If that accidentally gets ripped off (which might, considering it's shape and size) the nail may get damaged or chipped with it... ouch! Or maybe not, if the glue is strong enough. I am thinking of using a nail-glove when sleeping with it, lol...
But look at how pretty this is, really!!! Maybe, it can be used to make a DIY knuckle ring?!? Any ideas?
I hope you are having a great mani-day my nail art friends!!!
And I hope that you are enjoying summer to the full... xoxo Maya

I was curious if you ever thought of changing the layout of your site?
ReplyDeleteIts very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people
could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text
for only having 1 or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
