In this Nail Art, I adapted the method from HelloGlossy.com

As the festival season is well under way, we have decided to come up with an oh-so-simple nail guide to help you transform those plain Jane nails into a work of art in just a few easy steps.

The graphic will give you step by step instructions into completing the perfect nail art to rock out at festivals. This season, we really can’t get enough of bold colours and patterns- don’t be afraid to stand out from the crowd and let those nails take centre stage.

Whether floral designs are your weakness, a polka-dot fanatic or more for random patterns, we have put together some of our favourite looks that are easy to achieve with the nail varnishes that you have at home.

With the help of Canadian beauty blogger’s, Superdry have crafted a fantastic festival nail style guide to inspire you.

Here are some additional tips to perfect your look!

Tip 1- Help from household items

Using a piece of a sandwich bag will allow to get the desired smudged look and blend the colours together to form a unique pattern, whilst using a cocktail stick will give you accurate designs.

Whilst painting your nails, always have a cotton bud at hand to clean up any excess varnish that appears on the skin. Try to wipe it away whilst it’s still wet for easier removal. If the varnish is already dry, dip the bud in nail varnish remover.

Tip 2- Drying nails

If you’re in a hurry but want dazzling nails, have a bowl of ice water at the ready to dry your nails in three minutes! And as tempting as it might be, avoid sitting near any fans whilst drying your nails. Although you might think it’ll help, the drafty air in fact will create bubbles and ruin your designs!

Tip 3- Prevent chipping

Try to always apply a base coat or a ridge filler, as this will prevent your nails from staining and the varnish from chipping. Another tip to prolong any chipping, whilst you’re applying the top coat, run the brush along the top edge (non-cuticle side) of the nail to seal the raw edge of the polish.

Tip 4- Making your nails pop

As our nails have natural tints to them, this can often change the colour of the polish. To paint your nail in the truest colour of the varnish, use a white nail polish as a basecoat. After this dries, apply the colour you desire, leaving behind a bright, strong coat.  If you are jazzing up your nails with any rhinestones, use the tip of your eyeliner pencil to pick up and place them on your nail. This will work for any nail art accessories too.
