To Love and Be Loved | Monday's Meditations

What does love mean to you?

love | pretty nails and tea

Love is patient and kind.
Love is not jealous.
It does not brag,
does not get puffed up,
does not behave indecently,
does not look for its own interests,
does not become provoked.
It does not keep account of the injury.
It does not rejoice over unrighteousness,
but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things.
Love never fails.

I have always believed that there is no greater joy to be had than the feeling of being loved; it starts from the family, then friends...

Now, I have learned, that there is such a thing as 'greater love' ~  greater than to be loved ~ To Love.  A love so profound it motivates us to love even those who doesn't love us in return, even those who hurt us; to care for those in need even before they ask for help; even when they are strangers; to show compassion and fellow feeling to all around us no matter their status in life...

Without asking anything in return.

Yet that love because it asks for nothing, gives freely.
Freely given love receives more love as a consequence.

Ultimately, the best love we ever had and will always have is the love of our Creator who lovingly gave us life and all the necessary things and luxuries to enjoy it.  The love we feel is the greatest when we love, in return, our Creator who loved us first.

That is the kind of love that allows anything else to endure even forever - the love based on principles from the One who endowed us with the capability to love.  The kind of love that never fails...

What do you think about Love?

To Love others, not money nor possessions is one of the secrets of contentment.  Read more here.

I hope that you will have a great day, full of love and contentment.
