Splash of colors in between layers of "jelly" (tinted polish) gives this effect of faded designs like that of lilies in a pond. This technique is also called "Pond-Mani"
I used L'oreal Jelly Polish called "Jolly Lolly" with white flowers using Cult Cosmetics "El Porto" The glitters are applied on top of of the jelly polish and it's called "Wedding Crasher"
The technique is very simple.
First, apply basecoat to protect your natural nails.
Then apply a layer of your Jelly polish (sheer tinted polish).
Then using a dotting tool, make 5 dots on the nails to form a flower. Optionally, use a toothpick to drag the dots to the center. Place the toothpick in the middle of each dot and drag it gently towards the center of the flower. (At this point, you may use your creative imagination to come up with beautiful designs, it doesn't need to be flowers. lol... But flowers are great for beginners as it is very easy to do.)
Let airdry for a minute or two. Apply a second coat of Jelly Polish.
Then, dots some flowers again on spaces not quite occupied by flowers yet (this way, the first layer of flowers remain visible). On the final stage of these flowers, I added a silver dot in the middle of the flower to give it definition.
Finally, apply a layer of top coat to protect your design and add shine.
Want to make your own Jelly Polish?
All you need is your favorite topcoat or clear polish and a drop or two of your favorite nail polish share. Stir very gently with a toothpick. You can add color to the polish as you wish, in order to obtain the right amount of sheer to suit your taste.
