The Citizen Soldier | Public Gardens, Halifax

The Citizen Soldier fountain, a statue erected as a memorial for the Boer War, is found at the Public Gardens in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  It is situated in a little pond amid a weeping tree (Weeping European Beech tree) and elm (Camperdown Elm) that provides a lot of shade.  I think it's a perfect spot to bring a book with, some tea and enjoy precious quiet time.  The sound of the water is very soothing.  Often, there would be a lovely birds bathing in the water.  A nice sight.

Public Gardens | Halifax, NS

Welcome to the Public Gardens in Halifax, Nova Scotia

We strolled the lovely pathways of a beautiful botanical garden in Halifax this past weekend.  "Is that the time already?" two and a half hours went by so fast.  No wonder my heels were aching now but my eyes were feasting at the greenery and beauty of the garden.

We were headed for the Harbourfront the day before, 'Lola' our GPS {yeah we named her}, led the way downtown.  As we tried to find our way, I caught a glimpse of a small entry way: "Public Gardens."  We were very well intrigued so we made sure we didn't miss it the next day.  And there we were.
